    The will of William Jeffreys of Franklin Co., NC mentions: wife Elizabeth Jeffreys to receive one tract of land whereon I now live situated on both sides of Little River, including the masnion, to have and to hold during her natural life and at the death of my said wife the property left to her both real and personal is to be divided into six equal parts: one sixth part to the children of my daughter Sarah J. Austin, dec'd namely William H. Austin, Charles J. Austin and Elizabeth L. Austing to be equally divided among them and their heirs; one sixth part to the children of my Daughter Mary A. E. It is noted that A.L. Perry's share was for her benefit and the remainder to her children. Elizabeth Jeffreys died 9 Dec 1871, Wm C. Austin died in 1865 leaving the said Charles Austing & Elizabeth Austin, who since intermarried with the said David Williams his only heirs at law. That Elizabeth H. Person has since intermarried witht he said Charles M. Cooke, that Wm F. Green who with J. Robert Jeffreys was appt executor of said will and trustee for the said A.L. Perry declined to qualify as such executor or become such trustee and that J. Robt Jeffreys qualified as such and became said trustee alone. The petitioners further show that they desire the land shall be divided among them according to their respecitve interests and they pray the court appt three commissioners to divide the same into six equal shares and to set apart to your petitioenrs, Patience Porter, Helen Jones, Siddie P. Jeffreys and J. Robt Jeffreys trustee for the said A.L. Perry each one sixt part thereof to the said children of Mary A.E. Person, viz: Mary E. Boddie, Elizabeth Cooke, Wm C. Person, Mourining H. Person and Carrie E. Person together one sixth part, the remaining sixt to the said Charles Austin and Elizabeth Williams surviving children of the said Sarah J. Austin. C.M. Cooke, Atty for Petitioners dated 28 Dec 1871 - accepted 8 Jan 1872
    * W. A. Jeffreys died in Franklin Co. on 1 Oct 1864, leaving a last will and testament. Said will devised a certain tract of land lying in the county adjoining the lands of J.W. Jones, Siddie P. Jeffreys and others, containing by survey 600 acres to Elizabeth Jeffreys the widow of the said W.A., for the term of ehr natural life and after her death to be divided into six equal aprts.
    * Land was divided on 5 Jan 1872 and filed in court 8 Jan 1872 - the land was on both sides of the Little River, North of the Louisburg Road, with the Rocky Branch laying on the east side of the land.
    * One account indicates he had 5727 acres of land and over 50 slaves.

    (Research):Note: From Chatham Co., NC Deed Book G, page 188-189, 18 Oct 1793 - Andrew Hartsfield Junior and Sedy his wife of Wake Co., NC to Thomas Stokes of Chatham Co., NC for 300 lbs current money - all our right, title & interest to our undivided part of four several tracts/parcels and all our title to a moiety (?) of another tract of land lying in Chatham Co., NC on east side of Haw River.
